I remember singing about, watching him on TV, and reading about him. Indeed, he has gone down in history and is well known by so many of us. Have you ever wondered where Rudolph came from?

Rudolph is Born

I read one story about where Rudolph came from and it was beautiful! I cannot find the original story I read, but I found this video that is close. What I loved in the story I read (that isn't emphasized here) is that Rudolph was born during Dad's story time with his daughter. I hope we remember the magnitude of our influence this year and that we use that influence for good in our own homes and families, our churches, schools, and communities.

Rudolph Lives On

  • Check your local listings and see if you can find the classic Rudolph. It's my favorite and I hope you'll enjoy it too.

  • Complete a simple and fun Rudolph craft. Check Pinterest or this one that is so cute!

  • Learn the song and sing it together. Take it up a notch and sing to family members, to neighbors, and the local retirement home!

  • Visit a real reindeer. Sometimes local zoos or winter attractions will have reindeer or two to visit.

  • Discover other other name for reindeer. Hint from the National Park Service: "Caribou are what the species is called in North America and reindeer are what they are called in Eurasia."

Lessons from Rudolph

Like everything, there's controversy that can be found. I prefer to focus on the goodness of Rudolph. Consider with your family what you can learn from his story. This is a great opportunity for a meaningful discussion.

Enjoy!
